Vraxor Care provides dedicated residential care for young people aged 10–18 across Newcastle and the surrounding Northeast. Every young person deserves stability, safety, and the chance to thrive.
Safe, nurturing residential homes where young people aged 10–18 can grow, learn, and build their futures.
Vraxor Care is a specialist residential care provider operating across Newcastle and the wider Northeast. We support young people aged 10 to 18 who have experienced social, emotional, and mental health challenges, providing them with consistent, trauma-informed care in a genuine home environment.
Our team of over 20 dedicated professionals work tirelessly to ensure every young person who comes through our doors feels valued, heard, and supported — not just now, but long into their future.
We prioritise building genuine, lasting relationships with every young person to provide the stability they need to flourish.
We actively support educational achievement and encourage every young person to reach their full potential.
Young people are involved in decisions that affect their lives. Their voice matters in everything we do.
To provide every young person in our care with a safe, nurturing environment that empowers them to overcome challenges, build confidence, and step into a brighter future — one day at a time.
Comprehensive, wraparound support designed to meet every young person's needs — from the moment they arrive, to long after they leave.
Safe, homely residential placements for young people aged 10–18 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Each home offers a structured, nurturing environment with around-the-clock support.
We work closely with local schools, colleges, and alternative education providers to ensure every young person in our care has access to meaningful learning opportunities.
Our staff are trained in trauma-informed approaches and work in partnership with CAMHS and other mental health services to support young people's emotional wellbeing.
As young people approach 18, our Staying Close programme provides a bridge between residential care and independent living — ensuring no one leaves our care without continued support.
Our commitment doesn't end when a placement does. We maintain meaningful contact with care leavers, offering practical help, emotional support, and ongoing guidance.
We maintain open, transparent communication with families, social workers, and placing authorities to ensure every care plan is delivered consistently and collaboratively.
Two welcoming, purpose-designed homes across Newcastle and the Northeast — each offering a safe and structured environment for up to four young people.
📍 Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 area
Amber House is a spacious, welcoming home in the heart of Newcastle, offering a calm and structured environment for up to four young people. The home is conveniently located near schools, leisure facilities, and public transport links, giving residents access to the wider community.
📍 Gateshead, NE8 area
Birchwood House sits in a quieter residential area of Gateshead, providing a more peaceful setting for young people who benefit from a calmer atmosphere. With large communal spaces and a well-maintained garden, it offers young people room to relax, socialise, and develop independence.
Everything we do is rooted in three fundamental commitments that guide how we support every young person in our care.
We believe that healing and growth begin with genuine human connection. We invest in building trusting, consistent relationships with every young person — recognising that for many, this is something they've rarely experienced.
We hold high aspirations for every young person we support. Whether in education, creative pursuits, or personal development, we encourage residents to set goals, work hard, and celebrate every success along the way.
Young people are the experts in their own lives. We create genuine opportunities for residents to shape their care plans, contribute to the running of their home, and influence how Vraxor Care develops as an organisation.
Feedback from social workers, families, and the young people themselves.
The staff at Vraxor Care have gone above and beyond for our young person. The consistency and warmth they provide has made a real difference to her confidence and wellbeing. I'm always kept informed and genuinely feel like a partner in her care.
Since moving to Amber House, my son has engaged with education for the first time in years. The team there don't give up on him — they keep showing up. That means more to me than I can put into words.
Vraxor Care stands out for the quality of their placement matching process. They take time to truly understand each young person before accepting a referral. The homes are warm, well-run, and young people genuinely seem settled there.
I didn't think I'd ever settle somewhere but the staff here actually listen to me. It feels like a proper home. They helped me get back into college and I've not looked back.
Leaving care can be one of the most daunting transitions a young person faces. We don't just walk away when a placement ends — we stay close.
Working in children's residential care is one of the most rewarding careers there is. If you're passionate about making a real difference in young lives, we want to hear from you. We offer excellent training, clear progression pathways, and a genuinely supportive team culture.
Whether you're a social worker looking to make a referral, a professional seeking more information, or someone interested in joining our team — we'd love to hear from you.
